Mrs. Ahlawat has been practicing law since 1976. She founded the Ahlawat & Associates (A&A) in New Delhi in 1981 as a litigation firm in Delhi. Over the years she grew the firm in manner that A&A become to be known as one of the go to litigation firms in Delhi for civil and commercial disputes. Now A&A is regarded as one of the leading firms in the country in both Litigation and Corporate Commercial services.

She has over 40 years of experience in service, criminal and civil matters in the Supreme Court of India, the Delhi High Court, the subordinate courts and service tribunals. She also has vast experience in arbitration dispute resolution work, including company / commercial. With her experience A&A has a unique ability of handling all dispute related matters within the firm and does not have to rely on outside counsels.

Mrs. Ahlawat knowledge and involvement in her area of expertise comes from the practical experience of the many roles she has adopted over the course of her career, a few of her assignments include arguing counsel for the State of Himachal Pradesh in the Supreme Court of India, Senior Standing Counsel DESU (DVB), amicus curiae in the Delhi High Court for numerous criminal appeals and murder references, special counsel representing the Punjab Government in their most controversial case involving State Property (Kapurthala House in Delhi), legal consultant for Delhi Agricultural Marketing Board & its 9 Committees, standing counsel for Netaji Subhash Chandra Institute for Technology (NSIT), legal consultant for Delhi State Civil Supplies Corporation, standing counsel for Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC), standing counsel for Government of NCT of Delhi for their service disputes for all the departments of the GNCTD including Delhi Police, counsel for the office of district and sessions judge to defend them in Delhi High Court, appointed special counsel to defend the Delhi Administration before various judicial commissions, member disciplinary committee of Delhi Medical Counsel which looks into the complaints of made against the doctors and hospitals by patients for medical negligence.
