Professional Experience
Soumyashree Meesaraganda is a part of the firm’s Corporate Commercial team and brings her US legal experience to the Firm.
Soumyashree graduated from law school in 2011 and completed her LL.M. from the prestigious Columbia Law School, New York, U.S.A in 2015. She has also completed a Post-Graduate Diploma in Intellectual Property Rights law where she graduated with honors. Soumyashree is a dual-qualified lawyer and is licensed to practice law in India (since July, 2011) and in the State of New York, U.S.A. (since July, 2016).
Since her LL.B. graduation in 2011, Soumyashree has had diverse experiences across various disciplines of law. She started her legal career in litigation with a focus on matters dealing with banking and finance law. She regularly appeared before various courts in Delhi, India. She advised nationalized and private banks in their various transactions and was responsible for drafting high-value loan documentation for consortium/syndicated lending advanced by nationalized and private banks.
After her LL.M., she worked on labor and employment law (US Federal and NY State) issues involving wage and hour disputes, discrimination, harassment, retaliation violations etc., amongst other areas of the law. She has independently provided legal support services on an ongoing basis to diverse businesses in the US and has worked on a wide range of US laws, including but not limited to, intellectual property rights law, securities law, general corporate law, employment law, immigration law, real estate and zoning laws, agricultural laws, US FDA regulations, US Customs and Border Protection regulations, and other regulatory compliances.
In her free time, Soumyashree loves baking and travelling. Since 2002, she has also been volunteering with a charitable trust started by her late mother (serving as a Trustee since 2019) that aims to provide free medication to poor child cancer patients in Delhi, India.
