Introduction
Earlier, the Ministry of Labour and Employment (“Ministry”) had released a press note dated April 03rd, 2023 wherein, the Ministry had undertaken several measures to increase registration facilities to unorganized workers by way of introducing common services centres at village level, organizing registration camps and drives, integrating E-Shram portal with Unified Mobile Application for New-age Governance (“UMANG”) mobile application, etc.
Recently, our Hon’ble Union minister for Labour and Employment and Environment, Forest, and Climate Change has released a press note dated April 24th, 2023, wherein, the Ministry has launched a more user-friendly version of E-Shram portal to enhance utility of the portal and facilitate ease of registration for unorganized workers.

It is interesting to note that the Ministry is continuously working towards improving the life and dignity of labour force of country by protecting & safeguarding the interest of workers and aims at providing social security benefits to the labour force working in both the organized and the unorganized sectors. Such progressive steps by the Ministry seems to align with the vision of our Hon’ble Prime Minister who is working day and night towards the welfare of our nation-builders thereby, ensuring that the unorganized workers are not deprived of such benefits and schemes which are meant for their very protection and upliftment.
